Conference for YOUNG MEN AND THE WOMEN THAT LOVE THEM

Welcome

Welcome to the Young Men Conference, an annual gathering dedicated to empowering and connecting young men across Africa. Organized by the Double Edged Impact Network, a community of impact-driven professionals committed to advancing humanity, this conference serves as a vital platform for young men to engage in meaningful discussions and equip themselves with the knowledge and strategies needed to overcome life’s challenges.

Our mission is clear: to foster a safe and inclusive environment where young men can connect, network, and cultivate valuable relationships that transcend personal, business, and career boundaries. Each year, in November, we come together in celebration of International Men’s Day to explore shared experiences, learn from one another, and grow as a community.

As a highlight of the conference, we proudly present the “Young Men of Impact Awards.” This distinguished ceremony recognizes and honors the remarkable achievements of young men across diverse fields who are dedicated to creating positive impacts in the lives of others.

Join us at the Young Men Conference and become a part of this transformative journey towards personal growth, leadership, and meaningful connections. Together, we will become more, do more, and give more, advancing not only ourselves but also the cause of humanity.

Men Dey!

Just a Saying Or Is There More To It?

Building on the impactful themes of previous years—”Positive Masculinity” and “The Complete Man”—this year’s theme, “Men Dey!”, resonates deeply with the essence of resilience and the undeniable presence of young men across Africa.

“Men Dey” is a Nigerian colloquial expression, which translates to “Men are here!” in English. The expression is not just a statement; it’s a powerful declaration of identity, strength, and potential.

“Men Dey!” goes beyond mere acknowledgment; it is a rallying cry for young men to step into their roles with confidence and purpose.

It’s about recognizing the significant impact young men have in society, celebrating their victories over adversity, and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to themselves, their communities, and beyond.

Why This Theme Matters:

In a world where young men are often expected to conform to rigid stereotypes, “Men Dey!” challenges these notions by promoting a more inclusive and supportive understanding of masculinity. It underscores the importance of creating environments where young men can thrive, be themselves, and make a positive difference.

This year’s theme is not just a message—it’s a movement. It’s about building supportive structures, fostering growth, and creating a space where young men can connect, learn, and grow together.

Through this conference, we aim to inspire every young man to recognize his value, embrace his potential, and take meaningful steps toward a brighter, more inclusive future.

This theme is designed to:

1. Acknowledge the Significant Role of Young Men:
“Men Dey!” celebrates the essential contributions young men make in various facets of society, from leadership and innovation to community building and cultural preservation.

It honors their presence as vital pillars in shaping a better future.

2. Showcase Strength and Perseverance:
This theme highlights the incredible resilience young men exhibit in the face of challenges.

Whether it’s overcoming societal expectations, navigating career obstacles, or forging their paths, “Men Dey!” is a testament to their unwavering determination.

3. Encourage Active Contribution:
“Men Dey!” serves as an invitation for young men to fully embrace their identity, take ownership of their roles, and actively participate in the development of their communities. It calls on them to harness their strengths and use them for the greater good.

Join us at the 2024 Young Men Conference as we explore what it truly means to say “Men Dey!” and how, together, we can build a stronger, more resilient generation of young men ready to lead and impact the world.
